Causes

Burkhart Network is founded upon philanthropic principles. Company owner and leader Lorene M. Burkhart is known in central Indiana for her community spirit and philanthropy. She has given her time, treasure and talent to nearly 30 organizations locally and nationally through her seven decades of life. She is a two time Sagamore of the Wabash, an honor bestowed by Indiana governors to only the most philanthropic in the state.

Burkhart’s passion for causes is part of her team’s culture. Books and proceeds are donated to organizations that complement titles and content.

United Way ReadUP

Burkhart Network donated a portion of proceeds from the sale of the Raccoon Tales children's book series to ReadUP, a United Way Agency program designed to help children in grade school become better readers.

Indianapolis Public Schools

Burkhart Network donated Raccoon Tales children's books to IPS School 46 for inner-city school children and their parents.

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis

Burkhart Network launched the Raccoon Tales series in conjunction with the Children's Museum and provided free books to children living in the surrounding inner-city neighborhoods. The Museum staff distributed the books in conjunction with the partnership.

Burkhart Network provides a portion of proceeds from the sale of Home on the Farm: If Chickens Could Talk and An Accidental Pioneer: A Farm Girl's Drive to the Finish to the Foundation.
